Eight Bogra cops to get BPM, PPM awards

BOGRA, Jan 3: Eight police officers and personnel from the district are going to get BPM and PPM awards this year for their outstanding contribution to their fields.
Bangladesh Police headquarters nominated them for the honour on December 31, 2017 from a list of 182 police and army officials.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to award the BPM and PPM holders with badges and medals at Razarbagh Police Lines in Dhaka on the inauguration programme of police week on January 8 next.
Among the selected police and army officers, eight were selected for BPM and PPM awards from Bogra District.
The BPM awardees are: Superintendent of Police of Md. Asaduzzaman, who was recently promoted to Additional DIG, Additional Superintendent of Police Arifur Rahman Mondal, and Sub-Inspector (SI) of Detective Branch (DB) Mojibur Rahman and SI Julhaz Uddin. The PPM awardees are: DB SI Alamgir Hossain and SI Faruk Hossain, DB Constable Ismail Hossain and Constable (Orderly) Helal Uddin.
District police sources said it is a rare incident as such big numbers of personnel were selected for BPM and PPM in the history of police from Bogra in the two subsequent years.
Police headquarter also selected five policemen in the last year for BPM and PPM awards for their outstanding service.
