BNP mayoral candidate wins at Bagha

RAJSHAHI, Dec 30: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) mayoral aspirant Abdur Razzak won in Bagha Municipality election defeating Awami League (AL) candidate Akkas Ali by 1,526 votes.
Abdur Razzak got 12,228 votes while Akkas Ali got 10,702 votes.
District Election Officer and Returning Officer Atiur Rahman declared the results on Thursday at 9pm.
Soon after hearing the result, the AL leaders and activists started vandalising the Upazila Chattar but no casualties were reported.
Later, the law enforcers brought the situation under control.
