
Former mayor of Chittagong City Corporation ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury was put on life support at a Chittagong hospital on Thursday night as his condition deteriorated again two days after he returned home from Singapore treatment for heart and kidney related diseases.
Mohiuddin, also city Awami League president, was taken to private Max Hospital on Thursday evening and later he was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital around 10pm and put on life support.
The physical condition of Mohiuddin, also city Awami League president, worsened more. Any organ of his body does not work, said the hospital managing director Dr. Liakat Ali Khan.
Mohiuddin’s elder son and also AL organizing secretary Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury confirmed the matter through a facebook post.
Earlier on Nov 11, Mohiuddin Chowdhury was admitted to Chittagong’s Max hospital and later airlifted to Square Hospital in Dhaka after he fell sick from heart and kidney related diseases.
On Nov 16, he was taken to a Singapore hospital for better treatment and returned to country safely on Nov 26. He was then admitted to Square Hospital again and went home on Dec 14.
