Lyricist Bijoy Sarkar’s 32nd death anniv today

NARAIL, Dec 3:  Lyricist Bijoy Sarkar's 32nd death anniversary will be observed tomorrow (December 4).
He died from old age complications on December 4, 1985.
Bijoy Sarkar was born at Dumudi village under Narail Sadar Upazila on February 20, 1903. His real name was Bijoy Adhikari. He wrote more than 1,800 songs including songs for Liberation War. He was awarded the prestigious "Ekushe Padak". After his death, he was buried at Keutia area under west Bengal in India.
A two-day programme will start from Monday to observe the 32nd death anniversary of Bijoy Sarkar.
