Comilla Victorians skipper Tamim Iqbal and the entire team have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during their match against Dhaka Dynamites at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on 29 November 2017.
The penalty was imposed after Comilla were found to be two overs short of the mark when time allowances were taken into consideration.
According to the Article 2.5.1 of the BCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minor over-rate offences, players are fined 10 per cent of their match fees for every over their side fail to bowl within the allotted time, with the captain fined double that amount.
As per the rules, Comilla Captain Tamim Iqbal has been fined 40 percent of his match fee, while the other players have received 20 percent fines. Tamim admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Match Referee Neeyamur Rashid and as such there was no need for a formal hearing.
The charge was laid by on-field umpires Nadir Shah and Riaz Uddin, third umpire Gazi Sohel and fourth umpire Mahfuzur Rahman.
Earlier, Rangpur Riders and Sylhet Sixers were also fined for slow over rate against Dhaka Dynamites.
However, Comilla won that match and climbed to the top of the point table with 14 points.
