Teen arrested over rape of child in Pabna

A teenager was arrested reportedly for raping a seven-year-old child at Santhia upazila in Pabna district.

The incident took place at Pipulia village in Santhia municipality, which led the victim's grandmother to file a rape case with Santhia Police Station against Siam, 11, of the same village.
According to the case statement, Siam lured the child to an empty house when the child went to take her tuition at one neighbour's house on Friday evening. Siam then forcibly violated the child there.

Later, police raided in the village and arrested the accused on early Sunday.

Santhia Police Station officer-in-charge Anwar Hossain confirmed the detention and added that the accused has been sent to jail following a court order.
