DIU holds National HR Summit-2024

Mohammad Mashequr Rahman Khan, PHF, Chief Executive Officer of Daffodil Family Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Business Development Manager, (Southern Region)  of AHZ Associates Saif Hossain, and Director of Career Development Center Dr. Tanir Abir, were presented at the inaugural session of the summit.

National HR Summit-2024 held at (DIU) Daffodil International University on Saturday based on the theme 'Transformation of Bangladesh using Artificial Intelligence'. 

Career Development Center of DIU organized the day-long summit at international conference room of the university at Birulia in Dhaka's Savar upazila. 
MA Akher, Director (Planning) of the Directorate of Youth Development of Ministry of Youth and Sports, was present as the chief guest at the inaugural function of the summit while Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, President of Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh and Chairman of DIU Board of Trustees virutally joined as guest of honour. 

DIU Treasurer Dr. Hamidul Haque Khan presided over the summit while Rtn. Mohammad Mashequr Rahman Khan, PHF, President of Bangladesh Society for Human Resource Management, Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Chief Executive Officer of Daffodil Family, and Saif Hossain, Business Development Manager, (Southern Region)  of AHZ Associates, were present as a special guests at the program. Dr. Tanir Abir, Director of Career Development Center delivered the welcome speech at the summit. 

In the day-long summit, five career related sessions were held where country's renowned corporate level top human resource professionals bridges industry-academia linkages. 
Session -1 was on Leading the change: HR strategies for ethical AI and explainable AI moderated by Professor Dr. Sheak Rashed Haider Noori, Head of CSE of DIU. Session-2 was HR talk on human-machine collaboration: Designing workplaces moderated by Professor Dr. Liza Sharmin, Dean of DIU FHSS. Session-3 was on Envisioning the future: HR strategies for building a successful and innovative business in Bangladesh 2041, moderated by Prof. Dr. Masum Iqbal, Dean of DIU FBE. Session-4 was on Upskilling the engineering workforce: Bridging the gap between academia and industry, moderated by Professor Dr. M. ShamsulAlam, Dean of DIU Faculty of Engineering, and Session-5 was on HR talk on the human factor: Ensuring employee well-being and ethical considerations in AI-driven HR moderated by Professor Dr Md. Bellal Hossain, Dean of DIU FHLS.

Professor Dr. S M Mahabub Ul Haque Mazumder, acting Vice Chancellor of DIU was present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the summit where Md. Farhad Habib, Senior Manager, Corporate Sales, Singer Bangladesh Limited, Mr. Mostafa Habib Faisal, Business Development Manager (North), AHZ Associates and Dr. Mohammed Nadir Bin Ali, Registrar, DIU were present as the special guests.

Addressing as the chief guest MA Akher said that there are many possibilities and opportunities to work with the youth in developing countries like Bangladesh, which will further enrich our national sector.

The current interim government under the leadership of Dr. Mohammad Yunus has taken various steps to utilize this young generation at the cost of Tk 3500 crore, so as to make them more skilled and job oriented. For this reason, special attention is being given to life-oriented skills, and it is planned to earn more foreign exchange by providing various types of free lancing IT training in 64 districts of the country, he added

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said, "We will have to make the human resource department more up-to-date by using artificial intelligence (AI) of this modern age. In this regard we have to work collectively, so that our young generation will be more motivated to use this modern technology appropriately." He also said that DIU has been trying to create a link between industry and education curriculum for many years.
