Two youths were killed after a lorry truck rammed their bike on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway at Gajaria upazila of Munshiganj district on Thursday.
The accident took place on Thursday night at Pakhir Mor area of the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Tanvir Hossain Rony, 23, son of Delwar Hossain, a resident of Palgiri village under Gohat North Union of Kachua upazila in Chandpur district, and Jahid Hasan Jipu, 23, son of Dulal Mia, from the same village. Tanvir was honours 4th year student of Dhaka College and Jahid was also the same year student of Chandpur Government College.
Delwar Hossain, father of victim Tanvir, said the duo was returning home from Dhaka, riding on a motorcyle when a lorry truck rammed their bike from the opposite direction at Kachua area, leaving Tanvir dead on the spot and Jahid critically injured.
Later, Jahid succumbed to his injuries on the way to nearbu Gouripur Upazila Health Complex, he said.
Kachua Police Station OC Mijanur Rahman confirmed the deaths.
