A day-long free medical camp was held at Shamshernagar area of Moulvibazar's Kamalganj upazila on Friday, under the initiative of Sylhet Women's Medical College Hospital.
The event, held at Hazrat Shah Kala Rah. Darul Arqam Dakhil Madrasa, provided medical services to over 700 flood-hit patients, with free medicines distributed among them. The camp ran from 10 AM to 5:15 PM, managed by Syed Kamal Uddin Foundation.
The camp was inaugurated by Major General (Retd.) Syed Iftikhar Uddin, President of Syed Kamal Uddin Foundation, and Shamshernagar Union Chairman Md. Juwel Ahmed.
A team of 11 specialists and MBBS doctors, led by Professor Dr. Oyes Ahmed Chowdhury, Professor Dr. Fazlur Rahim Kaiser, Professor Dr. Tahur Abdullah, and Professor Dr. Nazrul Islam Bhuiyan from Sylhet Women's Medical College Hospital, conducted health checkups and provided prescriptions along with free medications.
Major General (Retd.) Syed Iftikhar Uddin stated that the area had been severely affected by recent floods, and the medical camp aimed to provide necessary healthcare to local residents. He expressed his gratitude to Sylhet Women's Medical College Hospital for sending a team of expert doctors and medicines.
Professor Dr. Fazlur Rahim Kaiser mentioned, "If any patients with serious health conditions are identified during this free medical camp, they will be treated at Sylhet Women's Medical College Hospital at a minimal cost or free of charge."
