Nine shops burnt in Bhola

Nine shops were gutted by fire at Kunj Haat Bazar in Borhanuddin Upazila of Bhola early Wednesday.

The fire originated from an electric short circuit at a coating shop of the Kunj Haat Bazar at around 12:45 am and soon engulfed the adjacent business establishments. As a result, nine shops were fully gutted, said Deputy Assistant Director of Bhola Fire Service and Civil Defence Md Liton Ahmed.

Being informed, four firefighters unit of Sadar, Lalmohan, Tajumuddin and Borhanuddin upazilas rushed to the scene and doused the blaze with the help of locals and affected businessmen after two and half hours of efforts, he said.

The extent of the damage could not be known immediately, the official added.
