Three members of a family, including a child, died under mysterious circumstances in Savar's Ashulia on Thursday morning.
Their incident happened at Vadail area on in the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Bachchu Mia, his wife Sapna and four-year-old daughter Jannati.
Neighbours said that a marital dispute might be the reason behind their deaths.
Bacchu and his family lived in a rented flat on the fourth floor. On Thursday, at around 1pm, Bacchu’s eldest son Himel shouted for help, according to locals.
When the people went to the flat, they found it locked from the inside. They broke the door and saw smoke billowing out of the room where Bacchu, Sapna and Jannati were found dead. Bacchu's body showed visible wound marks.
Masudur Rahman, inspector of Ashulia Police Station, said that police have been sent to the scene after knowing the incident.
Legal actions will be taken in this regard after investigation, the police official added.
