One more dies of dengue, 561 hospitalised

One more dengue patient died and 561 people were admitted to different hospitals across the country in the past 24 hours till Thursday morning.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), of the new patients, 141 were admitted in hospital under Dhaka North City Corporation while 151 were hospitalized in Dhaka South City Corporation, 
A total of 17,845 dengue cases and 103 deaths have been reported since January 1, 2024.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh saw the year's highest single-day dengue deaths on Tuesday as at least five patients died with the mosquito-borne disease.

Last year, 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.
