Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted that due to the active monsoon, deep convection is taking place over north Bay and adjoining areas of Bangladesh.
Under its influence squally weather may affect the maritime ports, north Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh. Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payrs have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal no. three (R ) three .
All fishing boats and trawlers over the north Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
Besides, due to the active monsoon, heavy (44.88mm/24hrs) to
very heavy (289mm/24hrs) rainfall is likely to occur at places over
Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions during the next 72
hours commencing 10AM of Thursday (September 12).
Due to very heavy
rainfall, land slide may occur at places over the hilly regions of
Chattogram division.
Besides, BMD in it bulletin said the as the monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay. A low pressure area is likely to form over coastal areas of Bangladesh and adjoining North Bay during next 24 hours.
For this, Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisionswith moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, the forecast is valid for 72 hours commencing 09AM on Thursday.
