The government has appointed Dr ABM Badruzzaman, a professor in the Civil Engineering Department at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), as the vice-chancellor (VC) of the university.
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education issued a notification on Thursday.
The notification says with the approval of the President and Chancellor, Dr ABM Badruzzaman has been appointed as VC of BUET in accordance with the university's law.
The tenure of his appointment as vice-chancellor will be for four years. He will receive salary and benefits equivalent to his current position and will enjoy other related perks.
In a separate notification, Professor Dr Abdul Hasib Chowdhury of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department at BUET has been appointed as the pro-vice-chancellor of the university.
The notification states that with the approval of the president and chancellor, Dr Abdul Hasib Chowdhury has been appointed to the post of pro-vice-chancellor effective from his date of joining.
The tenure of his appointment as pro-vice-chancellor will be four years. He will receive salary and benefits equivalent to his current position and will enjoy other related perks as per regulations.
