Khaled Mahmud Sujon resigned from his position as a BCB director on Wednesday.
The former Bangladesh cricket captain was elected as a BCB director after defeating Gazi Ashraf Hossain in the 2013 BCB elections.
Sujon stepped down after 11 years of service on the cricket board, though the reason for his resignation was not immediately known.
He was in charge of BCB's game development department for a long time before leaving his post.
During his tenure, Bangladesh's Under-19 team won the ICC Under-19 World Cup in South Africa in 2020.
The youth team also won the Under-19 Asia Cup in the UAE this year.
In addition, Sujon served as an interim coach and manager of the Bangladesh national team while holding the position of board director.
He also coached several clubs including the prestigious Abahani Limited. In the most recent BPL, he coached the Dhaka outfit.
Sujon, 53, played for the Bangladesh national team from 1998 to 2006 and captained the side from 2003 to 2004.
Sujon is the second elected director from the previous board under former BCB president Najmul Hasan Papon to resign voluntarily, following Naimur Rahman Durjoy, another former Bangladesh captain who resigned last week.
In addition, National Sports Council (NSC)-nominated director Jalal Yunus stepped down from his position at the request of the NSC, while another NSC-nominated director Ahmed Sazzadul Alam Bobby did not resign but had his nomination revoked by the NSC, which appointed a new director in his place.
Faruque Ahmed and Nazmul Abedin Fahim were appointed as BCB directors to replace the departing officials with Faruque later being elected as the new president of the BCB.
Among other changes, Tanveer Titu also resigned as a BCB director, while Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel remains on the board but has resigned as head of the women's wing.
