The government has appointed Muhammad Syed Ali, Deputy Secretary of the Central Digital Cell of the Ministry of Commerce, as the administrator of the e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB).

The Ministry of Commerce issued a circular in this regard on Wednesday, signed by its Additional Secretary Dr Naznin Kawser Chowdhury under the section 17 of the Trade Organizations Act, 2022.

The circular said that the new administrator would hand over the responsibilities to the newly elected body of the country's apex trade organization by holding a free and fair election within 120 days and thus apprise the development to the Ministry.    —BSS
