ACC to probe graft allegations against four ex-MPs

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to launch an investigation into corruption allegations against four former lawmakers, including former state minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossain.

ACC Deputy Director Akhtarul Islam said that in preliminary findings, ACC found some credibility to the allegations.  So the commission on Wednesday decided to investigate into the corruption claims.

The four former lawmakers, who are accused of acquiring illegal wealth through corruption and misusing their power, are former MP of Kurigram-4 Zakir Hossain; former lawmaker of Dhaka-18 Mohammad Habib Hasan; former MP of Bogura-3 Advocate Nurul Islam Talukder; and , former MP of Chapainawabganj-3 Abdul Odud.
