Two brothers were allegedly killed by opponents at Lohagara upazila in Narail district on Wednesday. At least five people were injured in the incident.
The incident took place around 8:30 am at Chermallikpur village of the upazil.
The victim were Miran Sheikh, 30, a resident of that village, and his brother Ziaur Sheikh, 40.
According to police, on Wednesday morning, Miran and Ziaur were going to field from their home. On the way, due to a previous dispute, their opposing people attacked them with indigenous weapons. Five more people were injured at that time while trying to stop the attackers.
Later, they were rescued and taken to Lohagara Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared Miran and Ziaur Sheikh dead.
Lohagra Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdullah Al Mamun said additional police have been deployed in the area. Police are trying to detain those involved in the incident.
