Dear Sir
The recent tragic incident in Rowmari upazila, Kurigram district, where 90-year-old Bosir Uddin was reportedly beaten to death by a youth, has shocked and saddened the community. According to reports, the altercation that led to this heinous act stemmed from a minor dispute over the old man's volume of speech. The brutality of the attack, carried out by Nure Alam, has left a dark stain on our society.
Bosir Uddin, a respected elder of Kaunia Chor village, was a figure of wisdom and experience. The senseless violence inflicted upon him is a stark reminder of the deep-seated issues of intolerance and aggression that plague our communities. It is imperative that justice be swiftly and appropriately served to ensure such tragedies do not repeat.
The arrest of Nure Alam by the local police is a step towards accountability, but it is crucial that the legal process is carried out with transparency and fairness. This incident calls for a broader reflection on how we address and resolve conflicts, especially those involving the vulnerable elderly population.
May Bosir Uddin's family finds solace, and may justice prevail for this grievous loss.
