After the appointment of noted economist Ahsan H. Mansoor as the Governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB), immediately after the fall of the Awami League government, two Deputy Governors have joined the central bank recently.
The BB on Tuesday assigned responsibilities among the four Deputy Governors, including two new ones, sources in the central bank said.
According to the assignment Norun Nahar is the Deputy Governor 1. She is responsible for Human Resources Department 1, Human Resources Department 2, Banking Regulations and Policy Department, SME and Special Programs Department, Credit Guarantee Department, Agricultural Credit Department, Bangladesh Bank Training Academy, Expenditure Management Department 1, Expenditure Management Department 2, Bankers Selection Committee, Department of Currency Management, Currency Museum Department, Sustainable Finance Department and Security Management Department.
As Deputy Governor 2 Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman will look after Chief Economist Unit, Statistics Department, Monetary Policy Department, Information and Communication Technology Department, Accounts and Budgeting Department, Research Department, Financial Sector Support and Strategic Planning Department, Deposit Insurance Department, Department of Communications and Publications, National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS) Administrative Unit, Financial Inclusion Department, Credit Information Bureau and Vet Management Department.
Newly appointed as deputy governor 3 Zakir Hossain Chowdhury took charge s of Foreign Exchange Policy Department, Foreign Exchange Operations Department, Foreign Exchange Investment Department, Department of Offsite Supervision, Financial Institutions and Markets Department, Payment Systems Department, Common Services Department-1, Common Services Department-2, Law Department, Special Studies Cell, Integrated Supervision Management Department and Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department.
As appointed as the deputy governor 4 Dr. Md. Kabir Ahmed will manage Bank Inspection Section-1, Bank Inspection Section-2, Bank Inspection Section-3, Bank Inspection Section-4, Bank Inspection Section-5, Bank Inspection Section-6, Bank Inspection Section-7, Bank Inspection Section -8, Foreign Exchange Inspection Department, Financial Institutions Inspection Department, Forex Reserve and Treasury Management Department and Financial Stability Department.
