After around three weeks of withdrawal, the government on Monday appointed Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in 25 districts across the country, including Dhaka.
A notification was issued in this regard by the Public Administration Ministry.
The districts are - Dhaka, Faridpur, Sylhet, Habiganj, Mymensingh, Sherpur, Kushtia, Jhenaidah, Magura, Rangpur, Gaiban-dha, Naogaon, Natore, Pabna, Bogura, Joypurhat, Cox's Bazar, Chattogram, Noakhali, Chandpur, Gazipur, Cumilla, Moulvibazar, Khulna and Gopalganj.
The DCs from the districts were withdrawn on August 20 this year and transferred to different ministries, directorates and other offices. Most of them were joint secretaries and deputy secretaries.
But, the DCs of Chandpur, Cumilla, Noakhali, and Moulvibazar stayed at their stations because of the floods. Now, the DCs of these districts were also withdrawn and new DCs were posted there.
All of the newly appointed DCs are deputy secretary.
The newly appointed DCs are - Tanvir Ahmed of Cabinet Division was made DC of Dhaka, Kamrul Islam Molla in Faridpur, PKM Enamul Haque in Sylhet, Dr. Faridur Rahman in Habiganj, Mufidul Islam in Mymensingh, Tarafder Mahmudur Rahman in Sherpur, Farhana Islam in Kushtia, Mohammad Abdul Awal in Jhenaidah, Ohidul Islam in Magura, Rabiul Faisal in Rangpur, Chowdhury Moazzem Ahmed in Gaibandha, Abdul Awal in Naogaon, Rajib Kumar Sarker in Natore, Mafizul Islam in Pabna, Hosna Afroza in Bogura, Saiduzzaman in Joypurhat, Mohammad Salauddin in Cox's Bazar, Farida Khanam in Chattogram, Khandaker Istiaque Ahmed in Noakhali, Mohammad Mohsin Uddin in Chandpur, Nafisa Arefin in Gazipur, Amirul Kaiser in Cumilla, Israil Hossain in Moulvibazar, Saiful Islam Khulna and Muhammad Kamruzzaman was made DC in Gopalganj.
