Advisor to the Ministry of Water Resources Syeda Rizwana Hasan has instructed authorities to take decisive steps to stop illegal encroachments on Arial Beel.

Following her visit to the beel, Rizwana emphasized the need to recover land that has been unlawfully occupied under the guise of housing development. She also directed the deputy commissioner to halt soil extraction by dredgers, initiate renovation and re-excavation of the beel's canals, and dismantle any illegal brick kilns operating in the area.

"Encroachers will not be permitted to enter Arial Beel, and all attempts to fill ponds must cease immediately," Rizwana declared. She warned that strict measures will be taken against those using political influence to seize land, and that the preservation of the beel, which spans four upazilas—Srinagar, Sirajdikhan, Dohar, and Nawabganj—will be prioritized.

Adilur Rahman Khan, Advisor to the Ministry of Housing and Public Works and Industries, who was also present, issued a strong warning against any construction in the land of the beel, affirming the commitment to protecting Arial Beel from illegal land grabbers.
