Polytechnic students block Tejgaon

Tejgaon Industrial Police Station OC Gazi Shamimur Rahman said vehicular movement on both sides of the road has been suspended, adding that, "We are trying to remove the protesters from the street."

It was learnt that the students took to the street at 12noon on Monday.

Their demands include all craft instructors who were appointed controversially in 2021, should be transferred from the technical department and all institutions immediately; diploma engineering courses should be ensured for a duration of four years and every semester (episode) should be of full duration (six months); the Technical Education Board must be reformed so that no personnel outside the outside the technical sector can manage the technical sector.
