A construction worker was killed after a wall collapsed on him in
Shariatpur municipality on Monday morning.
The incident occurred around 10:00 AM in Rupnagar area under Ward No. 4 in the municipality.
The deceased was identified as Sohel Sardar, son of Mokhles Sarder, a resident of Shantinagar area in the municipality.
Locals said that Sohel was repairing a wall of a business institution on Monday morning when the wall suddenly collapsed on him, leaving him critically injured.
Locals rescued him and took him to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
On information, police have been sent to the hospital, said Mezbah Uddin Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Palong Model Police Station.
Action would be taken if a complaint is filed, the OC added.
