At least 17 people including children and women were injured in a head-on collision between two microbuses in Sherpur's Sadar upazila early Monday.
The incident happened around 5:15 AM on the Sherpur-Mymensingh highway in front of a local passport office in Nabinnagr area in the upazila .
Thirteen of the injured were shifted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) from Sherpur Sadar Hospital.
Of them, condition of three were stated to be critical.
Locals said that the two speeding microbuses collided with each other in the area, leaving all including drivers of the vehicles injured.
Later, locals and Fire Service and Civil Defence personnel rescued them and rushed them to Sherpur Sadar Hospital and later shifted to the MMCH, they said.
Mohammad Jahangir Alam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, confirmed the accident.
