Firearms, ammunition recovered in Sirajganj

Police have recovered two shotguns, 16 rounds of ammunition, and two magazines from the staircase of an under-construction mosque at Fulkocha village in Sirajganj Sadar upazila. 

The discovery was made on Sunday morning along the Kazipur Road in the upazila.

Local said that early in the morning, around 6:30 AM, several worshippers noticed that the firearms and ammunition on the mosque's staircase. Upon being informed, police immediately arrived at the scene and recovered the firearms.

Sirajganj Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge Humayun Kabir confirmed the information.

According to OC Kabir, the recovered weapons include two Turkish-made Sulun-12 gauge shotguns, one of which is described as highly sophisticated. He mentioned that authorities are investigating who may have left the firearms and whether the weapons are among the looted weapons or not. Further actions will be taken in consultation with higher authorities following a thorough investigation.
