Albion Group, a Chattogram-based industrial group, distributed medicines among 500 flood victims in Nangalkot upazila of Cumilla on Saturday.
A local youth-led initiative organized a medical camp in the Nishcintapur village of the upazila to offer healthcare services to flood victims, with Albion Laboratories Ltd, a sister concern of Albion Group, providing the medicines, according to a press release.
Flood victims expressed their gratitude to the organisers and Albion Group after receiving free healthcare services from specialist physicians, along with essential medicines.
Raisul Uddin Saikat, Chairman of Albion Group, said the donation of medicines is part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts. "We are very happy to be a part of such a noble endeavor," he added, pledging continued support for the flood-affected communities.
Nangalkot is one of the areas hardest hit by the recent devastating floods that swept through 11 districts, including Feni, Cumilla, Noakhali, Lakshmipur, and Chattogram. More than 7 million people were affected by the weeklong floods, which claimed over 70 lives.
