The National Board of Revenue (NBR) will open its upgraded online tax return submission portal from Monday (September 9) for the taxpayers for the fiscal year 2024-25.
NBR has upgraded its server to facilitate people-friendly digital income tax, wealth statement and other tax submissions by individual taxpayers and to create a transparent and accountable tax administration.
It mentioned that that individual taxpayers will be able to use e-return system to prepare their tax returns and submit return online or take printout for offline filing return, pay tax through online banking, credit card/debit card or mobile financial services (Cash, bKash, Rocket etc.).
The taxpayers will get acknowledgment receipts of their filed tax returns and tax payment certificates, and will also be able to register for taxpayer identification numbers (TIN) and TIN certificates.
Besides, taxpayer will also get copies of electronically filed tax returns of the previous year, print or download proof of return filing, the NBR said.
TIN and biometric verified mobile number in taxpayer's own name will be required to register in this system.
Individual tax payers will be able to submit their e-returns for the tax year 2024-2025 by submitting their information on the National Board of Revenue's www.etaxnbr.gov.bd website from Monday (September 9).
Earlier, in 2021, had launched the e-system and some 61,491 taxpayers filed e-returns in the fiscal year 2021-2022, 2,44,481 in the fiscal year 2022-2023 and 5,26,487 in the fiscal year 2023-2024.
