Agarwala sent to jail in Hridoy murder case

Dilip Kumar Agarwala, Managing Director of Diamond World was sent to jail on Saturday after a three-day remand in a case filed over the killing of a teenager during the Anti-discrimination Student Movement in the capital's Badda area.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Dilruba Afroz Tithi passed the order   rejecting his prayer for bail after a hearing.

On Wednesday another Dhaka court placed Dilip on a three-day remand in the case.

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained Dilip on Tuesday in the Gulshan area of Dhaka after surrounding his office there and conducting a raid.

According to the details of the case in which he was remanded, Hridoy Ahmed, 16, was shot dead in front of Brac University at Mahakhali in the capital on July 19. 

Complainant Shahadat Hossain Khan filed a case against 161 people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in this connection.
