Two drown in Kushtia

Two children drowned while bathing in a pond at Daulatpur upazila in Kushtia district on Saturday.

The deceased were Tamim Hossain, 12, son of Rakibul Islam, from Lakshmikola village under Rifaitpur union of the upazila, and Ashik Ahmed, 11, son of Akched Mondal, from the same area.
Citing locals, police sources said that the duo along with others went to the pond to bathe in the afternoon and drowned. Hearing the others screaming, locals rushed there and recovered the bodies from the waterbody.

Daulatpur Police Station officer-in-charge Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the deaths and added that an unnatural death case was filed in this regard.
