The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted that low pressure light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty is likely to occur across the country in next three days. The maritime ports have also been asked to raise the caution signal number three.

Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at few places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

Mild heat wave is sweeping over Rangpur and Sylhet divisions and the districts of Jashore, Chuadanga, Tangail, Faridpur and Rajshahi and it may continue.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, weather forecast valid for 72 hours commencing 06PM on Saturday.

The low pressure area over west-central Bay and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal moved northwards and intensified into a well marked low over the same area.

It is likely to intensify further. The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay.

Due to the law pressure, all meritime ports –Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, Payra -- have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal no. Three (R) Three.

All fishing boats and trawlers over north Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice
