Mild earthquake jolts Rangpur

A mild earthquake, measuring 4.1 magnitude on Richter Scale, jolted Rangpur and nearby areas on Friday.

The earthquake felt at around 8:28 PM on Friday and lasted for a few seconds, with no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
Meteorologist Mostafizur Rahman from Rangpur Meteorological Office confirmed the information, adding that the epicenter was located 21 kilometers from Samtse in Bhutan.

Meanwhile, India's National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported that the earthquake originated 62 kilometers from Bhutan's capital, Thimphu, at a depth of 5 kilometers. According to their data, the quake registered a magnitude of 4.4, while the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) recorded a magnitude of 4.5.
