Ex-land minister’s son arrested with arm, ammo in Pabna

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the son of a former land minister from Ishwardi upazila of Pabna district early Friday.

The arrestee was Shirhan Sharif Tamal, 35, son of former land minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif Dilu. He was also Juba League president of Ishwardi upazila.

RAB-12 Pabna camp commander Major Ehteshamul Haque Khan said in a drive, RAB team seized one foreign-made pistol, one magazine, four rounds of ammunition, 10 pieces of Yaba tablets, and a car at around 2AM on Friday.

Later, RAB detained him in this connection.
