Bangladesh national football team will take on the Bhutanese side in the first of the two-match FIFA international friendly series today (Thursday) at 6:00 pm at the Changlimithang Football Stadium in Bhutan.
Bangladesh football head coach Javier Fernandez Cabrera said they were up and ready to face the opponents. He was talking at a pre-match briefing on Wednesday.
He said, "We have third-round matches in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers in the next year. We want to prepare well for those matches. We want to win both matches here in Bhutan."
As per statistics, Bangladesh is in a better position than Bhutan. Meeting 14 times, Bangladesh won 11 against Bhutan while losing one and two matches were tied.
Earlier, four of the recent SAFF U20 Championship winning squad were included in the team. Bangladesh team went to the Bhutanese capital on 30 August to play the matches.
The boys began their three days back and practised for two hours every day at the Changjiji Football Stadium in Thimphu, Bhutan
The second FIFA international friendly match is to be played on 8 September.
