The Governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB) Ahsan H Mansoor has approved the increase of dollar endorsement limit by exchange houses from 1,000 to 5,000 dollars.
The Governor took this decision in a meeting with the representatives of Money Changers Association of Bangladesh (MCAB) on September 03. The president of Money Changers Association of Bangladesh MS Zaman gave this information to reporters after the meeting.
He said, 'Our fundamental rights were discussed in the meeting and we got them. The governor has also given instructions to the concerned department of Bangladesh Bank in this regard.
Bangladesh Bank has allowed money exchanges houses to buy foreign currency with NID without passport from now. We will be able to show NID information as evidence in reporting to Bangladesh Bank' said MS Zaman.
Apart from this, the president said he had talked with the governor about the selling price of dollars. He said, as before, the money exchange houses can sell by adding one taka to the rate at which the bank will sell the dollar.
Apart from this, he said, 'Now there is no money changer operation. And now we are not being harassed. However, we have been slandered many times, so that we should not give it, I have spoken about it.
