Abducted mother, daughter found dead in Cox’s Bazar

CUMILLA , Sept 3: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered the bodies of a woman and her child, who were allegedly kidnapped from Padua area in Cumilla three days ago, from Cox's Bazaar town Monday night.

The victims are - Arifa Akhter, 25, wife of Tanveer, and her three-year old daughter Tanisha Islam Anha, hailed from Ashoktola area in Sadar upazila of the district.

On information, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in Shoikotpara area around 9:30 pm in the town last night and recovered their bodies, Md Kalam Chowdhury, assistant director (Law and Media) of RAB-15, said here on Tuesday.

Arifa's family members had lodged a General Diary (GD) with Cumilla Sadar Dakshin Thana on the day they went missing.    —BSS
