Dengue claims one more life, death toll 87 this year

One more dengue patient died while 289 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever in the last 24 hours till Monday morning.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease rose to 87 this year.

It said that of the new patients, 120 were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, while the rest were outside it.

Some 1,374 patients are receiving treatment in different hospitals across the country.
A total of 13,608 dengue cases have been reported since January 1, 2024.

Last year, 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.
