Former minister Anwar Hossain Manju arrested

Former minister Anwar Hossain Manju has been arrested by Detective Branch (DB) of Police.

On Monday (September 2), he was arrested in a raid from Dhanmondi area of ​​the capital.

DB Joint Police Commissioner (North) Md Rabiul Hossain Bhuiyan confirmed the matter.

He said that Anwar Hossain Manju was arrested in the afternoon. There are cases against him in five police stations, including a case of murder. He was brought to the DB office for questioning, the official added.

Anwar Hossain Manju is a former MP of Pirojpur-2 Constituency and former Water Resources Minister. Prior to this, he was minister of two other ministries (Ministry of Communications and Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources). Manju became member of parliament six times from Pirojpur-2 Constituency.
