A youth was killed during a clash between two groups over a land dispute at Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj district on Thursday.
The incident happened at Mohzompur West Kazipara under Jampur union in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Md Shawn, 24, son of Ali Azgar alias Banna, a resident of the area.
It was learnt that there had been a long standing dispute between BNP leader Israfil and Awami League leader Motaleb over land. on Thursday afternoon, both groups engaged in an altercation.
Following this, they attacked each other with various locally made weapons, leaving nine people injured from both groups.
The injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Narayanganj Upazila Health Complex, but Shawn died on the way to DMCH.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Narayanganj Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said inspector Md Saiful Islam, incharge of Taltola Police Outpost.
Legal procedures are under process in this regard, the police official added.
