PABNA, Aug 27: Police recovered the body of a housewife from a ditch in Bera Upazila of the district on Sunday morning after two days of her missing.
The deceased was identified as Lucky Khatun, 36, wife of Rabiul Islam, a resident of Natun Bharenga Village in the upazila.
Local and the deceased's family sources said that Lucky Khatun went missing from the house at around 8:30 pm on Friday last. The family members searched her various areas, but could not locate the woman.
Finding her nowhere, the family members lodged a general diary with Bera Police Station (PS) in this connection.
Later on, locals spotted the body of the housewife in a ditch in Pashchim Para area of Natun Bharenga Union of the upazila on Sunday morning and informed the matter to police.
Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to Pabna General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The deceased's husband Rabiul Islam claimed that Lucky Khatun had an extramarital affair with their neighbour Rafiq. She might have been murdered over that issue.
Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Bera Model PS Siddiqur Rahman confirmed the incident, adding that the law enforcers are investigating the matter and filing of a case is underway in this regard.
