All 639 police stations across the country resumed their operations on Thursday.

Police headquarters said in a message all the police stations have returned to regular activities.

All 110 police stations in the metropolitan cities are functional while 529 police stations in districts are also functional, it said.

Moreover, 24 police stations of Government Railway Police (GRP) have resumed their activities.

Services at most police stations were suspended after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government on August 5, following attacks on the police stations across the country amid a mass upsurge.

Later, Home Affairs Adviser M Sakhawat Hossain strictly ordered police personnel to return to their workplace immediately.
