A Magistrate court in Dhaka on Thursday asked police to submit an investigation report by September 15 against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and six others in grocery shop owner Abu Sayeed murder case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jaki Al Farabi passed this order.
The other six accused in the case are Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader,
home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former inspector general of
police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, former DMP commissioner
Habibur Rahman and former DMP joint commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarker and
former DB chief Harun ar Rashid.
Amir Hamza Shatil, a resident of Mohammadpur, filed the case with the Court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury on Tuesday (August 13).
According to the case statement, Abu Sayeed was shot dead on July 19
when police was firing indiscriminately on students and common people
during the Quota Reform Movement. Abu Sayeed, a grocery shop owner, was
crossing a road there at that time.
