Unwholesome food in roadside vendors

Dear Sir

Roadside vendors are found everywhere in our country, but they are very common in Dhaka, selling their stuff near mosques, hospitals and schools. The food items they sell are usually contaminated, as these vendors do not pay attention to the cleanliness of food items. Dust from roadside also contaminates the food that is mostly uncovered. Washing of plates in the same bucket in reused water also results in many people becoming sick after eating roadside food items.

Customers buying from roadside vendors crowd the pavements, which spilling on roads, create more congestion on roads already jammed with traffic. Pedestrians face many problems due to the presence of vendors on pavements. As a law student, I request the concerned authorities to look into the business of roadside food sellers, and formulate a mechanism that would follow guidelines to improve the quality of food being sold, hygiene and customer behaviour.
