Minor child drowns in Chandpur pond

A five-year-old child drowned in a pond at Hajiganj upazila in Chandpur district on Tuesday.

The deceased Abdullah was son of Alam Sarder and a resident of Mohammadpur village under Gandharbyapur union of the upazila.
According to the family members, Abdullah went to the pond near to his house unbeknownst to them while playing with other children.

Later, they started searching for him and found his body floating in the waterbody. He was rescued and taken to Hajiganj Upazila Health Complex where the physicians declared him dead.

Dr Md Golam Mawla Naim, residential medical officer of the health complex, confirmed the death.
