A Dhaka court on Monday rejected bail prayer of Syed Abed Ali, former driver of the Public Service Commission (PSC) and accused in the case in question paper leak of different PSC exams.
Judge Mohammad As-Shams Jaglul Hossain of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge court passed the order.
On July 11, Dhaka's Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court's rejection of bail prayer of Syed Abed Ali, was challenged in the Metropolitan Sessions Court.
Private television Channel 24 investigated and aired a report on the question leak of the exams conducted by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC).
The media earlier reported that at least two deputy directors of PSC, and Abed Ali were involved in the question leak.
The media reported that Abed amassed immense wealth.
According to the report, the question-leak gang chose the recruitment test for the deputy assistant engineer of the railway held on July 5. A copy of the question was sent to the WhatsApp numbers of jobseekers by the syndicate at least one hour before the examination.
Before any BPSC recruitment test, the gang used to leak and sell questions, the channel reported.
Police arrested a total of 17 accused in the case on July 9. Of the 17, six including Syed Abed Ali later gave confessional statements in the court.
