JnU VC Dr Sadeka resigns

Jagannath University (JnU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Sadeka Halim has resigned.

The VC confirmed her resignation on Sunday evening.
She said, 'I have sent the resignation letter to the President some time ago.'

Earlier, at 2.30 pm, students protested demanding the resignation of the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Proctoral Body and Hall Provost. The students gave an ultimatum of 24 hours for their resignation but the VC resigned within three hours.

She was the sixth and first woman Vice-Chancellor of the university. On November 30, 2023, she replaced the late Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Md Emdadul Haque.
