2 killed in Narsingdi road accident

Two people were killed and others 42 injured after a bus fell from an overpus in Narsingdi's Sadar upazila early Sunday.

The accident took place at around 1:30 AM on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Basail area in the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Nurul Islam, 50, hailed from Sylhet district, and Nur Uddin, 45, hailed from Hobiganj. 

Eyewitnesses said the a Sylhet-bound bus, carrying passengers, fell from the overpus in the area while its driver lost his control over the steering due to overtaking a truck, leaving Nurul Islam dead on the spot and several others injured. 
Locals rescued the inured and took them to Narsingdi District Hospital where Nur Uddin succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Among injured, 10 were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for better treatment, said Dr Md Zakir Hossain, an emergency medical officer of Narsingdi district hospital.
