Dhaka Medical College (DMC) administration has banned all forms of student politics on the campus and in its two dormitories from Saturday.
A notification, signed by DMC Principal Prof Md Shafiqul Alam Chowdhury , issued on Saturday said the decision was taken at a meeting of the college's academic council.
The notification said that all forms of student politics (Chhatra League, Chhatra Dal, Chhatra Shibir and any other newly formed student organisations) are permanently banned on DMC campus, Shaheed Dr Fazle Rabbi Residential Hall and Shaheed Dr Alim Chowdhury Girls' Hostel.
Any student found to be involved in promoting or campaigning openly or secretly on campus or in the dormitories, bringing in student politics, their practice, or holding political programmes, or calling on others to do so, or supporting or taking part in promotion and campaign activities, will be subject to immediate disciplinary action, it added.
Meanwhile, Sir Salimullah Medical College (SMC) has also banned student politics on its campus on Saturday.
