Stocks at the Dhaka bourse continued to rally for
three consecutive days from Tuesday to Thursday as investors continued
their buying spree on large-cap issues amid optimism.
DSEX,
the prime index introduced by the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on January
28, 2013, hits the highest jump in a single day by 306 points or 5.44
per cent to settle at 5,924.81.
Two
other indices also ended higher with the DSE 30 Index, comprising blue
chips, rose 110.56 points to finish at 2,132.73 and the DSE Shariah
Index (DSES) advanced 55.77 points to close at 1,274.91.
On Thursday, turnover at the DSE hits around five months high at Tk 1,606 crore.
Out of 398 issues traded, 364 advanced, 27 declined and 7 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
The
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also rebounded with the CSE All Share
Price Index - CASPI -gaining 861.51 points to settle at 16,799.76 and
the Selective Categories Index - CSCX rising 522.12 points to close at
10,132.02.
Of the issues traded, 31 declined, 244 advanced and 10 issues remained unchanged on the CSE.
The port city's bourse traded 86.28 lakh shares and mutual fund units with turnover value of Tk 22.69 crore.
