Maj Gen Ziaul detained by DGFI

Major General Ziaul Ahsan, who was relieved of his post in Bangladesh Army on Tuesday, has been detained.

It was learnt that members of DGFI took him back to Dhaka Cantonment on Tuesday night.

Ziaul Ahsan was detained after Emirates Flight 585 was made to taxi back to the boarding bridge from the runway.
Meanwhile, Biplab Kumar Sarker, joint commissioner for admin and detectives-south of DMP's Detective Branch of police, was also in the same flight. But he was not detained, it was learnt but not confirmed.

Major General Ziaul Ahsan, served as Director General of National Telecommunication Monitoring Centre since 2022 before he was relieved of duty.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Bangladesh Army made a major reshuffle in its top posts with Major General Ziaul Ahsan, popularly known as Major Zia, being relieved from service and some others being reassigned, an ISPR press statement said.
